Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how the Zynx mobile application (“Zynx”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information. It applies to the Zynx app for iOS. By using Zynx, you agree to this policy.

2. Our local-first approach

Zynx is designed to keep your financial information private by keeping it on your device. Zynx does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide an email address. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your financial records. We have no ability to view, access, or recover the data you enter into the app.

3. What we do not collect

We do not:

• Require an account, email address, name, or phone number.
• Collect or transmit your transactions, accounts, budgets, assets, or other financial records to us.
• Use advertising networks or show ads.
• Include third-party analytics, tracking, or behavioural-profiling SDKs.
• Ask for or store your bank login credentials. Zynx does not connect to your bank.
• Track you across other apps or websites.

4. Data stored on your device

The information you enter is stored locally on your device in the app's private database and file storage. This may include:

• Transactions, income, expenses, transfers, and categories;
• Accounts and balances;
• Budgets and budget settings;
• Recurring and fixed bills;
• Assets, their values and value history, and any photos or documents you attach;
• Tasks, reminders, and appointments;
• App preferences such as language, currency, and lock settings.

This data remains under your control on your device. It is included in your device's own iCloud/iTunes/Finder backups only if you have enabled those Apple features, in which case it is governed by Apple's terms, not ours.

5. Camera & photos

If you choose to attach a photo to an asset or transaction, Zynx requests access to your camera and/or photo library. These images are used only to display them inside the app and are stored locally on your device. Zynx does not upload them anywhere. You can decline or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the app will continue to work.

6. Notifications

Zynx uses local notifications to remind you about bills, tasks, payments, budget reviews, and asset updates. These reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. We do not run a push-notification server and do not receive any information about which notifications you see or open.

7. Face ID & biometrics

If you enable the app lock, Zynx uses Apple's Face ID / Touch ID through iOS's local authentication system. Your biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave and is never made available to Zynx. The app only receives a success or failure result.

8. Purchases & subscriptions

Zynx offers an optional paid subscription, “Zynx Pro.” Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your payment-card details.

To manage and validate subscriptions, Zynx uses RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure provider. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat may process a randomly generated app-user identifier, your App Store purchase/receipt information, your subscription status, and basic technical data such as country, device model, and operating-system version. This is the only category of information that leaves your device by default, and it is used solely to deliver and verify your subscription. RevenueCat's handling of this data is described in their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Apple's handling of purchases is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

9. Backups & exports

Zynx lets you export a backup file of your data. This is initiated by you. The exported file leaves your device only when you choose to save or share it (for example, to Files, iCloud Drive, or another app). Once exported, the file is under your control and your chosen destination's terms; please store it securely.

10. How information is shared

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Because your financial data stays on your device, there is nothing for us to share. The only third parties involved at all are Apple and RevenueCat, strictly for processing your optional subscription as described in Section 8.

11. Retention & deletion

Your data is retained on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual records inside the app, or remove all app data by deleting Zynx from your device. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies; you can request deletion of RevenueCat-held data via the contact in Section 16.

12. Children's privacy

Zynx is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because Zynx stores your financial data locally and we do not hold it, you can exercise most of these rights directly on your device at any time. For the limited subscription data processed by RevenueCat, contact us and we will help facilitate your request. We do not “sell” personal information as defined by the CCPA.

14. Security

Your data is stored within the app's sandboxed storage on your device, protected by iOS. You can add an extra layer of protection by enabling the Face ID app lock. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but keeping your data on-device removes the large-scale server breach risk common to cloud-based finance apps. Keep your device's operating system up to date and protected with a passcode.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app or on this page. Continued use of Zynx after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
